Stirling

The city of Stirling is located not far from Edinburgh and Glasgow. This ancient town has a castle and the William Wallace monument.

Stirling Castle
This castle is one of the largest in Scotland. Historically, it was very important because of its geographical location and its location on a hill that has cliffs. Consequently, it was not hard to defend the castle.
For those who are interested in visiting the castle, which is one of the largest in Europe, we must pay about £12.

William Wallace Monument
Contrary to what one might think, this tower is quite recent, because its construction was completed in 1869. Thus, it is not a historic building, but only a tower that commemorates the memory of William Wallace.
The Scottish hero is known for having led wars of independence of Scotland. To easily understand the story I recommend you watch (or re-watch) the film Braveheart.
If you plan to visit this monument will provide good boot (the building is on a hilltop and is 67 meters high) and it will still pay a ticket (about £ 6 or £ 7). Please note that first floor of the monument is the sword fighter William Wallace.
